The Rose Campaign

December 6th was Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, and marked the 22nd anniversary of the massacre of 14 women at l’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal. Every year, YWCAs across Canada mark the occasion with the Rose Campaign to honour the victims and raise money to support women who are victims of violence and their families. This year, YWCA Edmonton commemorated the Rose Campaign with a  Luncheon at the Fantasyland Hotel, hosted by the Edmonton Philanthropy Lunch Club. Those who attended got to network, have a light lunch and listen to YWCA Edmonton President Amanda Vella share the powerful story of a former client, who was able to escape violence through the help and support of YWCA Edmonton and Staff.

A heartfelt thank you to all those who attended the luncheon and who donated generously to support the Rose Campaign to End Violence Against Women.
