Women of Distinction
Take part in one of the most anticipated events in Edmonton. YWCA Edmonton is currently filling positions for the 2009 Women of Distinction Event Committee. Over its 28 years, the YWCA has recognized hundreds of exceptional women with this red carpet affair.

Rainbows
Rainbows ia a program aimed at helping children deal with the separation of a loved one caused by Military Deployment, Adoption, Parental Separation, Divorce or Abandonment.

GirlSpace
Girl Space is an innovative new program piloted by the YWCA Edmonton and the Edmonton Public and Edmonton Catholic school boards. Girl Space is built around the philosophy that there are key skills that teen girls must develop in order to become empowered, assertive and strong young women.

Special Projects
By becoming part of our Special Projects Team, you can take part in any number of our short-term projects, including marching in the Capital Ex parade, fundraising at special events, facilitating one day conferences or raising awareness of YWCA Edmonton. It's always something new!

Powerful Women
Be part of shaping a world of equality, opportunity and choice for women and girls. Participate in the YWCA Week Without Violence, One Woman One Vote, and GirlSpace programs.

Counselling Centre
Help women and families through turning points in their lives. As a volunteer in our Counselling Centre you can co-facilitate group sessions using expressive arts and movement therapy, provide support to people impacted by family violence, death, divorce and other issues, or help facilitate our Lakeside Haven Retreat for families recovering from family violence.

Y-Knit
As a Y-Knit volunteer you would knit or crochet toques, mitts, scarves, blankets and other items at your own pace in your home. YWCA Edmonton then distributes the items to shelters, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, our Counselling Centre and other areas of the community in need.

Administration
We always need help around the office! In our fast paced, dynamic office environment you would help with administrative duties such as data entry, filing, phone calls, graphic design/layout and computer support.
Note: All Volunteer positions that include direct work with YWCA clients will require both criminal and child intervention record checks.
