YWCA Board of Directors

The work of the YWCA Edmonton could not be done without the guidance and leadership of its Board of Directors; a slate of committed and passionate women who guide the vision of the organization.

Women of Distinction

Take part in one of the most anticipated events in Edmonton. YWCA Edmonton is currently filling positions for the Women of Distinction Event Committee. Over its 29 years, the YWCA has recognized hundreds of exceptional women with this red carpet affair.

Rainbows

Rainbows is a program aimed at helping children deal with the separation of a loved one caused by Military Deployment, Adoption, Parental Separation, Divorce or Abandonment.

GirlSpace

GirlSpace is an innovative new program piloted by the YWCA Edmonton.  Girlspace is built around the philosophy that there are key skills that teen girls must develop in order to become empowered, assertive and strong young women. 

Special Projects

By becoming a YWCA Edmonton Volunteer, you can take part in any number of our short-term projects, including fundraising, assisting with special events or raising awareness of  YWCA Edmonton. It's always something new!

Y-Knit

As a Y-Knit volunteer you would knit or crochet toques, mitts, scarves, blankets and other items at your own pace in your home.  YWCA Edmonton then distributes the items to shelters, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, our Counselling Centre and other areas of the community in need.

Administration

We always need help around the office!  In our fast paced, dynamic office environment you would help with administrative duties such as data entry, filing, phone calls, graphic design/layout and computer support.

Note: All Volunteer positions that include direct work with YWCA clients will require both criminal and child intervention record checks.
