Rainbows Facilitator
Rainbows is a support group for children and youth dealing with
divorce and separation that is designed to help them deal with
their emotions.
This position provides supportive listening, encouragement and
compassion, while assisting children or youth in expressing their
grief. This program requires a fifteen-week commitment; training
is provided.
Skills required:
- 16 years old or older
- a desire to assist children
- an understanding of child development is an asset
- a current criminal
records check and child welfare check are mandatory
prior to commencing the position
Location:
- Winter - sessions held in central Edmonton; starts late January or early February.
- Fall - sessions held in north and/or south Edmonton, starts early September.
Hours:
- 6 - 8:30 p.m. once a week, plus an occasional weekend
