2020 Event Update
Walk A Mile In Her Shoes
Thank you for your interest in YWCA Edmonton’s 2020 WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® event.
For 11 years, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes has served as one of Edmonton’s most cherished signature events, raising over $1 million in support of YWCA Edmonton’s programs and services.
Our utmost priority is the health and safety of our staff, participants, volunteers and community members. As a result of COVID-19 and after careful consideration, YWCA Edmonton has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® event.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created increased demand for our services, and we need the support of our community more than ever. If you’d like, you can make a personal donation so that we can continue making a difference during the coronavirus crisis. To learn about other ways you can support YWCA Edmonton, including hosting your own fundraiser, please visit: https://www.ywcaofedmonton.org/ways-to-give/
We will continue to explore other ways to engage and bring our community together to support our work in creating a community with equity, opportunity, and choice for all. Though our September 2020 event will not take place as we’d intended, we will continue to strive towards our purpose – advocating for equity through a woman’s perspective, educating and empowering those we serve.
We would like to thank our entire Walk a Mile family for their incredible support in the past – participants, sponsors, volunteers and all those who have played a role in the success of this event through the years. We’ll continue to do everything we can to help our communities stay safe, supported and connected as we move forward. We encourage everyone to continue to support the YWCA in other ways so we may continue to serve our community, as we have done for the past 113 years.
Thank you for your understanding and support. Take care and be well.
